- adds external modules (crypto-openssl dbd-mysql dbd-odbc dbd-pgsql
  dbd-sqlite3 dbm-gdbm ldap)
- Makefile and patches are updated and cleaned

- improves the cross-compile setup (via configure variables sed scripts)
