Philip PrindevilleandGitHub 72cb164486 Merge pull request #5026 from pprindeville/perl-dot-exclude-breakage
perl: modules failing due to dot not in @INC
2017-10-28 00:16:35 +01:00
Philip Prindeville c79911b66d perl: modules failing due to dot not in @INC
5.26.1 introduced default_inc_excludes_dot which is causing
perl-html-tags and possibly other modules to fail. Add explict
dot back when invoking module's ./Makefile.PL.

Philip Prindeville 4a94479f96 perl: update to 5.26.1
Required changes:

* Add qualifying '.' to scripts or to @INC, as appropriate since we're
  enabling default_inc_excludes_dot;

* Add new platform/library definitions like double-double format and
  locale library functions/headers;

* Delete patch 020 as it's been upstreamed;

Optional changes:

* Instead of using -@rm and having that fail, emit an error message,
  and be ignored, just use @rm -f instead which will always succeed.

[CVE-2017-12837] Heap buffer overflow in regular expression compiler

Compiling certain regular expression patterns with the case-insensitive
modifier could cause a heap buffer overflow and crash perl. This has
now been fixed. [perl #131582]

[CVE-2017-12883] Buffer over-read in regular expression parser

For certain types of syntax error in a regular expression pattern, the
error message could either contain the contents of a random, possibly
large, chunk of memory, or could crash perl. This has now been fixed.
[perl #131598]

[CVE-2017-12814] $ENV{$key} stack buffer overflow on Windows

A possible stack buffer overflow in the %ENV code on Windows has been
fixed by removing the buffer completely since it was superfluous anyway.
[perl #131665]

Philip Prindeville 8043fdf755 beanstalkd: add package
For now building from git using latest SHA (commits are relatively
infrequent). Set priority to come up immediately after network
interfaces are brought up. Patches have been submitted upstream
(but not yet accepted) to fix:

* a somewhat cross-compile unfriendly makefile;
* a header inclusion issue which causes MUSL compilation warnings;
* using the somewhat arcane posix_fallocate() in favor of the
  more ubiquitous ftruncate() system call instead.

Hopefully the next release will include our submitted fixes and
we can transition to a numbered release.

Philip Prindeville 384c2a8cfd net-snmp: add symlink for net-snmp-config into usr/bin
A lot of autoconf-based scripts expect --with-foo-dir=$(STAGING_DIR)/usr
and break if they can't find bin/foo-config as a child of that path.

Putting things in $(STAGING_DIR)/host/bin seems to be suboptimal; I
could change the install path but there's no saying what that would
break.

Philip PrindevilleandDaniel Golle 9fdba25e04 openssh: if we don't generate a dsa key we shouldn't look for it
The earlier commit ea119211b2 removed 'dsa' as one of the ssh_host_*_key
types that got generated. Problem was that it didn't remove that key
as one of the paths that the server looks for by default. As a
consequence, your log file might fill up with messages like:

    2017-06-01T15:43:07-06:00 openwrt sshd[31929]: error: Could not load host key: /etc/ssh/ssh_host_dsa_key

The patch is forunately trivial. Don't set the path for the dsa
key file in the server configuration.

Philip Prindeville 901ef617c7 rng-tools: start rngd early enough to actually be useful
lighttpd starts at priority 50, but promptly calls getrandom() on
initialization (li_rand_reseed() and li_rand_device_bytes() from
server_init()). If /dev/urandom (which getrandom() uses by default)
doesn't have sufficient entropy, this will block.

Since Openwrt runs the startup scripts serially, this can block
initialization indefinitely. I've seen 15-20 minutes typically.

Seeding the pool early on can quickly built sufficient entropy to
complete booting without blocking.
